Since 1995, The library Foundation has been expanding Multnomah County Library’s reach and impact, especially to low-income communities and at-risk children, through a variety of literacy programs, cultural experiences and books in ten languages. Voodoo Doughnut is proud to support the library’s Summer Reading program,
reaching more than 110,000 kids in our community each year, the largest literacy program in the state.

Published biweekly in Portland, Oregon, it has been Portland's flagship publication addressing homelessness and poverty since 1998. |

Urban Opportunities serves the most at-risk youth in the community: those that are from homeless and low-income families, in foster care, adjudicated, or attending high schools with high drop-out rates and large minority populations. Their three-month curriculum focuses on job skills such as resume-writing, creating employment opportunities through partnerships with local businesses and the Voodoo Doughnut van, (a mobile branch of Portland's popular Voodoo Doughnuts), and college and career exploration. |
